Reading manager Brian McDermott has revealed that he hopes midfield duo Danny Guthrie and Jem Karacan will be available for selection against Manchester City on Saturday.
Guthrie has not played since he refused to travel with the Reading squad to Sunderland last week, while Karacan has been struggling with a knee injury.
However, McDermott is hopeful that both players will return on Saturday to add more depth to his squad for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
McDermott told reporters: "We're hopeful that Jem and Danny will be available.
"Sean Morrison isn't available and obviously Alex McCarthy is longer term but we are getting players back, which is great."
Reading have lost their last six games in the Premier League.
