Reading manager Brian McDermott has claimed that his side didn't deserve to lose after they went down 4-2 at Chelsea on Wednesday night.
The Royals had led 2-1 at half-time before a controversial Fernando Torres goal set the hosts on their way to the victory.
"We felt there was something for us at 2-2 and could have got another goal," McDermott told BBC Sport. "I certainly don't feel we deserved to lose the game.
"What you have to do is move on very quickly. I thought it was a great game. We've come to the European champions and put on a real performance and it shows we deserve to be here.
"We're trying our best to play the best football we possibly can. I told myself when I took this job we'd try and win games."
Reading have a chance of notching up their first win of the new season when they travel to Sunderland on Saturday.
