Reading manager Brian McDermott has revealed that he is looking to add "two or three" experienced players to his squad in January.
McDermott has seen his side lose six out of their last seven games to leave the club six points away from safety, and while the Royals boss has revealed that he wants to add to his squad, he admits that he cannot pay over the odds for any new acquisitions.
McDermott told reporters: "We are talking at the moment regarding players. If we could bring in two or three players that could make a difference, it would be useful to the squad.
"We don't generally deal in big prices. We try to get players that are available. I'd like to bring in two or three with a little bit of experience at the level.
"Having said that, if we can bring in someone from somewhere who we think has potential and can play for us, then fine and that's what we have done with the group now."
Reading are playing in their first season back in the Premier League after they won the Championship title last season.
