Real Madrid to hold press conference to address transfer ban

Real Madrid will hold a press conference at 7.30pm Spanish time on Thursday evening to respond to the charges issued by FIFA in relation to transfer dealings.

A statement on Real Madrid's official website has revealed that the Spanish giants will hold a press conference on Thursday evening to respond to the latest charges issued by FIFA.

Real Madrid, along with Atletico Madrid, have been hit with a two-window transfer ban after FIFA found irregularities in relation to the registration of players under the age of 18.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo said that his club will launch an appeal and it is expected that Real will tonight confirm their intentions to fight the charges.

The statement revealed that general manager Jose Angel Sanchez and the club's director of legal services Javier Lopez Farre will both appear in front of the media at 7.30pm Spanish time.

Both Real Madrid and Atletico are free to sign new players until the end of this month.
