Real Madrid dressing room 'divided by Marco Asensio deal'

Key midfielder Toni Kroos is reportedly one of a number of Real Madrid players to have been left jealous after seeing Marco Asensio awarded a new big-money deal.

The Real Madrid dressing room has been left divided after midfielder Marco Asensio was rewarded with a bumper contract renewal, according to a report.

Asensio put pen to paper on a new long-term deal earlier this week, which is said to have brought him in line with some of the club's top earners.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that some members of the Madrid squad have been left jealous, however, including key midfielder Toni Kroos who is now after improved terms of his own.

It is suggested that Germany international Kroos feels under-appreciated at the Bernabeu and believes that he deserves a better salary.

Asensio played a direct part in three goals from his eight appearances this season prior to Sunday evening's visit of Espanyol.
