Roma captain Francesco Totti has praised the club's fans after celebrating his 37th birthday this weekend.
The Italian legend recently signed a new two-year deal and is pleased with his side's impressive start to the season.
He also commented on Daniele De Rossi's joke that he would never become Roma captain because Totti would always be there.
"I thank everyone for their affection and birthday wishes," Totti told Sky Sport Italia. "The fans are my strength to do great things for Roma and help me continue to honour the jersey.
"Roma haven't been at the top of the table for such a long time that we need to stay on the right track, although there is still a long way to go.
"I have a special rapport with Daniele. On the one hand I hope he can become Roma captain as soon as possible, but on the other hand it's as late as possible because that would mean I would no longer play."
Roma take on Bologna tomorrow, hoping to preserve their 100% start to the season.
