Steven Naismith has claimed that Scotland have 'plenty of confidence' following their friendly win over Qatar.
The Scots earned a 1-0 victory at Easter Road last night as Matt Ritchie's goal made the difference.
Ahead of their crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Republic of Ireland next weekend, Naismith believes that Scottish football is in a healthy state.
"It wasn't the greatest performance by us, but the main thing is the result," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "It was one that was needed to get back into the swing of things for a few of the boys after having a rest.
"We've got competition for places and everybody needs to be at their best to be in the team. We're confident enough.
"Getting a result over in Ireland would be a fantastic achievement and one that will put us in a great position going into the rest of the campaign."
Scotland are currently in third place in their Euro 2016 qualifying group, one point behind leaders Poland.
