Scotland suffer triple injury blow ahead of Nations League matches

Charlie Mulgrew, Kevin McDonald and Stephen O’Donnell have all pulled out of the squad.

Scotland have suffered a blow ahead of the forthcoming international break with three players pulling out of their squad through injury.

Alex McLeish’s men have Nations League clashes away to Albania and at home to Israel over the next 10 days.

They will go into those games without Charlie Mulgrew, Kevin McDonald and Stephen O’Donnell, though.

Kilmarnock defender O’Donnell missed his side’s win at Hearts on Saturday with a hamstring problem, while Blackburn midfielder Mulgrew has a rib problem.

Fulham man McDonald is missing Sunday’s clash with Liverpool due to a hamstring complaint.

In announcing the news, the Scottish Football Association did not name replacements.

Scotland are second in Nations League C Group 1 with three points from two games.
