Sheffield Wednesday lose Keiren Westwood red card appeal

Sheffield Wednesday lose their appeal against the red card shown to Keiren Westwood on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood will not be available for tonight's trip to Millwall after the Owls lost their appeal against his red card on Saturday.

Westwood was shown a straight red card for what was adjudged to be a professional foul and the dismissal has been upheld on appeal.

The 30-year-old will now have to sit out tonight's match at The Den, but will be available when the Owls host Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Tonight's game will be the first in the league that Westwood has missed this season. No-one has kept more clean sheets than the Irishman's 14 this term.
