Sheffield Wednesday sign Urby Emanuelson

Sheffield Wednesday sign former AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson on a free transfer.

Sheffield Wednesday have signed former AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old, who has been handed the number 26 shirt, could made his debut for the Owls in this weekend's Championship clash with Wigan Athletic.

A Netherlands international of 16 caps, the versatile midfielder, who can also play left-back, started his professional career with Ajax, before representing Milan, Fulham, Roma and Atalanta.

Emanuelson had been available on a free transfer after leaving Verona at the end of last season.
