Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis has suggested that midfielder Adam Lallana was irritated by criticism he received following the club's complaint about referee Mark Clattenburg.
The FA and referees' governing body PGMOL decided not to take action against the match official after the Saints accused Clattenburg of insulting Lallana.
"I think for the first day he was a bit like 'why is everyone coming for me?'," ITV Sport quotes Davis as saying. "He made a remark after the game, conversations happen and the end result was the end result, but anyone that knows Adam knows that first of all he is a good pro, a good lad, a good person."
The incident is alleged to have occurred during their 2-1 defeat to Everton on December 29.
