Rafael van der Vaart claims that he is happy at Tottenham Hotspur although admits a move to Schalke is tempting.

Rafael van der Vaart has indicated that he is willing to remain at Tottenham Hotspur despite interest from Schalke.

The German club confirmed their intention to sign the Dutch attacking midfielder this week and the 29-year-old admits that a move is tempting.

Van der Vaart told German newspaper Bild: "I don't know. Actually, I want to stay at Tottenham. But in football you never know.

"I spent three years living in Hamburg and had a wonderful time at HSV. My wife Sylvie works there and we have many friends who live in your country."

Van der Vaart joined Spurs from Real Madrid in 2010.
