Jack Colback claims that the atmosphere at Newcastle can motivate Sunderland.

Jack Colback has said that the hostile atmosphere at the Sports Direct Arena will provide Sunderland with added motivation during tomorrow's showdown with Newcastle United.

Colback, who was on loan at Ipswich Town when Sunderland last travelled to Newcastle, insists that he's more than prepared to do his best if called upon after watching the Black Cats lose 5-1 in this fixture a season ago.

"It'll be an intimidating atmosphere, but that's football," he told the Sunderland Echo. "Certainly, if I get the nod, I'll go out there and do my best for the team.

"If anything, it gives you that boost, you get a bit of motivation if you go to places and the fans are on your back.

"We know how tough the game will be, but we'll have a full allocation up there who will give us the motivation to do well."

Newcastle handed Sunderland a 1-0 defeat when the sides met at the Stadium of Light earlier this season.
