Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is adamant that his players need to keep the same level of commitment as they showed against Chelsea to get out of the bottom three.
The Black Cats played out an exhilarating game with the Blues on Wednesday at the Stadium of Light but fell to a 4-3 defeat.
Poyet told the club's official website: "With the situation we are in we have to show that attitude, commitment and desire to win the game. We need to defend well, be organised and not make mistakes.
"There's plenty of things still to improve, but you cannot do everything perfectly from one day to another.
"You need the players to understand and get used to it and get a few results going your way."
Sunderland face one of Poyet's old clubs Tottenham Hotspur later today.
