Sunderland striker Louis Saha doesn't want his first goal for the club to be 'meaningless'.
The 34-year-old joined the Black Cats as a free agent in the summer and is still yet to score since his arrival on Wearside.
Steven Fletcher remains the only Sunderland player to have scored this season with the club sitting in the bottom half of the table, but Saha says that he wants his goal to come at the right moment.
"You always work hard for that first goal and the pressure is off when you get it," said Saha.
"But you want to make sure you get it, when it is the right moment.
"You don't want to score when you are 3-0 down and you do not need it."
Saha faces old club Everton when Sunderland travel to Goodison Park on Saturday.
