Dutch winger Ola John has turned down the opportunity to play in the Premier League in favour of a move to Benfica.
The 20-year-old was a reported target of both Aston Villa and Sunderland, but the Portuguese outfit have now announced that John has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
John, who is a Netherlands Under-21 international, will move to the Estadio da Luz for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £9m.
The youngster had been included in Bert van Marwijk's provisional Euro 2012 squad, but has since been cut.
