Michael Laudrup: 'Manchester United win very special'

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup labels his side's 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup as "something very special".

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has described his side's 2-1 away victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup as "something very special".

The Welsh club secured the victory after goals from Wayne Routledge and Wilfried Bony made Javier Hernandez's equaliser redundant, while United full-back Fabio da Silva was also shown a straight red card in the second half of the game.

"It's something very special. For me it's a game we've won, another game in which we've shown confidence. We just needed a win," Laudrup told reporters. "Even with 11 vs. 11 it could have ended 1-1 and I would be sat here saying the same things – that I was very happy with the performance and that my players still played with a lot of confidence.

"I think that's very important because sometimes when you see a team who has not won for six or seven games then can play without confidence, but I do not see that in my team today so I'm very happy.

"Apart from winning, this is the most important thing – the day I see something different is when I would be worried, but I do not see that."

Swansea will now face either Birmingham City, Bristol Rovers or Crawley Town in the next round of the cup.
