Kyle Naughton has revealed that Hull City's David Meyler has apologised for the tackle that left the Swansea City defender with ankle ligament damage.
Meyler was sent off in the 3-1 defeat to Swansea 10 days ago for a reckless challenge on the right-back, who was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season.
Despite the severity of the tackle, Naughton revealed that he harbours no resentment for the Republic of Ireland international following an apologetic text message.
"I've damaged the ligaments in my other [right] ankle before, so I knew straight away that it was serious," Naughton told the South Wales Evening Post.
"In fairness to Meyler, he texted me to apologise and said he didn't mean to do it. He didn't have to text me, so it was good of him.
"I know it wasn't intentional, so there are no hard feelings. It's just one of those things. I just have to get on with my rehab now."
Meyler served the first of his three-game ban in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Southampton.
