Jurgen Klinsmann has been named the new coach of the USA national football team.
The former Germany boss was handed the job following the sacking of Bob Bradley on Thursday after four and a half-years in the role.
"He is a highly accomplished player and coach with the experience and knowledge to advance the program," said US Soccer president Sunil Gulati.
"Jurgen has had success in many different areas of the game and we look forward to the leadership he will provide on and off the field."
The 47-year-old's first game in charge of the Stars and Stripes will be against Mexico on Wednesday, August 10.
