Valencia sign defender Aymen Abdennour from Monaco on five-year deal

Valencia sign Tunisian centre-back Aymen Abdennour from Monaco on a five-year deal, after Nicolas Otamendi leaves the Mestalla for Manchester City.

Valencia have signed Tunisian centre-back Aymen Abdennour from Monaco on a five-year deal.

The 26-year-old, who joined Monaco from Toulouse in 2014, had been linked with a move to Chelsea this month.

Speaking to the club's website, Abdennour said: "I chose Valencia CF out of all the offers I received, because it is a big club in Spain and Europe. I had no doubts.

"I will give my all to have a good season with my new teammates. Everyone knows Valencia CF because they have won a lot of trophies.

"I am delighted to be joining the best league in the world and hope to play well for the team."

Abdennour has made 33 international appearances for Tunisia since making his debut in 2009.
