Watford are reportedly signing Ashley Fletcher on a five-year deal, as the striker's contract at Middlesbrough expires at the end of this season.

Watford have reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Middlesbrough striker Ashley Fletcher, who will become a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.

The 25-year-old has struggled for game time in Neil Warnock's side because of injury problems, and he has only managed two goals in 12 Championship appearances for Boro this season.

Fletcher was also left out of the Middlesbrough squad for their last four league matches of this campaign as Warnock decided to start preparing for next season without him.

Football Insider reports that the centre-forward has agreed a five-year deal at Vicarage Road with recently-promoted Watford, after rejecting an offer to stay on Teesside.

Middlesbrough signed Fletcher for £6.5m from West Ham United in 2017, with the striker's best season coming in the 2019-20 campaign when he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists for Boro.

Since his arrival at the Riverside Stadium, the Englishman has scored 28 goals and registered 11 assists in 109 appearances for the club.
