West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has reportedly had surgery on his fractured foot.
The former Liverpool forward suffered a hairline fracture during the Hammers' 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.
However, the forward did manage to make a cameo in the team's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur before it was decided that further steps needed to be taken.
According to the Daily Mail, Carroll sought a specialist on Monday in the hope of avoiding going under the knife, but he did not get his wish and had an operation today.
The publication claims that the forward, who was linked with a loan move to Chelsea, will be sidelined for eight weeks.
