Sam Allardyce urges Leicester City to keep faith with Nigel Pearson

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce urges Leicester City to stick with Nigel Pearson ahead of Saturday's meeting between the two sides.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that Leicester City would be wrong to sack Nigel Pearson.

The Foxes boss has come under pressure in recent months as his side continue to struggle in their battle to avoid relegation, but Allardyce has urged the club's hierarchy to keep the faith even if they do return to the Championship.

"I rate Nigel very highly. He's a very good manager," Allardyce, whose side face Leicester on Saturday, told reporters. "Nigel has done a fantastic job for the football club.

"If Burnley go down this season, they will stick with Sean Dyche won't they? Well, Leicester should do the same with Nigel.

"The owners there need to stay strong and judge Nigel on what he has done, not just this season, but throughout for that football club."

Leicester are currently seven points from safety at the bottom of the table.
