Harry Redknapp tips West Ham United to finish "seventh or eighth" in Premier League

Harry Redknapp tips West Ham United to finish "seventh or eighth" in the Premier League this season and expresses his delight in the signing of Jack Wilshere.

Harry Redknapp has tipped West Ham United to finish "seventh or eighth" in the Premier League this season.

The Hammers have signed seven new players over the summer, including Brazil winger Felipe Anderson in a club-record deal.

In addition, West Ham will be led by Manuel Pellegrini, a manager whose previous clubs include Manchester City and Real Madrid.

As well as expressing excitement over the coming season, former Hammers boss Redknapp was also pleased to see England international Jack Wilshere come on board at the London Stadium.

"I'm excited," Redknapp told talkSPORT. "I think West Ham could finish seventh or eighth this year.

"I certainly don't see them in them in the bottom half of the division. They're going to be decent this year, West Ham.

"I think Jack Wilshere was a good signing. If Jack's fit he's a fantastic player. And he's still young enough to push on again. So I do think he'll be a great signing for West Ham."

West Ham get their campaign underway at Liverpool on Sunday, August 12.
