David Edwards confident of Wolverhampton Wanderers Championship title challenge

Dave Edwards is confident that Wolverhampton Wanderers can challenge for the Championship title this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards has expressed his confidence in the club's chances of challenging for the Championship title.

Wolves are just outside the playoffs and eight points behind league leaders Bournemouth following five wins in their last six league games, a welcome run which comes directly after five straight defeats in November-December.

"We just need to keep winning and I'm sure we'll be up there come the end of the season," Edwards, who has scored four goals in three games, told the club website.

"The last time we were promoted from the Championship we had that little wobble in January-February time.

"We like to think we've had our wobble now – we had our dismal run in November. We've reacted really well to that by winning games, playing good football, scoring goals and keeping clean sheets."

Wolves are trying to achieve back-to-back promotions after winning League One last term.
