Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers turned down in £53m Franck Kessie bid

Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to have been rejected in their £53m pursuit of for AC Milan loanee Franck Kessie, on the books of Atalanta BC.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made an offer of £53m for on-loan AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

The highly-rated 21-year-old joined the Rossoneri last summer on a two-year loan from Atalanta BC with an obligation to buy but is believed to be on the radar of numerous European clubs.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Wolves have tabled a deal comprising an initial £35m fee and a further £18m in add-ons.

However, the report claims that Kessie has rejected the move as the Ivory Coast star is deemed central to Milan's future plans.

Kessie has netted 11 times in 67 appearances throughout his career in the Italian top flight to date.
