Gary Johnson 'proud' of Yeovil Town players

Gary Johnson tells his Yeovil Town players that they should be proud of themselves for the display that they put in against Manchester United.

Gary Johnson has praised his Yeovil Town players for the performance that they produced during their FA Cup clash with Manchester United earlier today.

The League One strugglers matched their more illustrious visitors for 64 minutes before Ander Herrera fired United in front with a strike from distance.

Substitute Angel di Maria made sure of United's passage through to the fourth round by scoring in the 90th minute, but Johnson believes that his team can be proud of themselves for their application and desire.

"We know they are a quality side and when you look at their bench we knew some of those would make a difference later in the game and that is what happened," Johnson told BBC Sport.

"We had a chance [through Kieffer Moore] but it was a world class goal from a world class player that put them in front. You can only be proud of the boys and the club. I think we go home with more pride than disappointment."

Johnson's men are bottom of League One having won just five games all season.
