St Helens 44-12 Castleford Tigers

St Helens defeat Castleford Tigers 44-12 at Langtree Park.

A brace from Tom Makinson helped St Helens see off Castleford Tigers with a convincing 44-12 victory this evening.

Anthony Laffranchi opened the scoring for St Helens in the sixth minute before leaving the field two minutes later through injury.

Paul Wellens and Tom Mackinson then exchanged tries with Castleford's Paul Jackson and the Tigers went into half-time 20-6 down.

Mackinson opened the second half scoring with his second try of the night. Three more tries for St Helens put the game out of Castleford's reach and a late Steve Snitch try offered little consolation as the match finished 44-12.
