Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has urged England coach Stuart Lancaster to take Chris Ashton on the team's upcoming tour of New Zealand.
The winger has struggled for appearances on the international stage during the past 12 months due to the form of Jack Nowell.
However, with Nowell ruled out of England's tour through injury, McCall believes that it is time for Ashton to be handed a recall.
"I think England are going to take 40 players on that tour, and I've got no doubt Chris will be one of those players," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"I think in the past Chris might have worried about that sort of thing, but I think he's just enjoying his rugby at the moment, enjoying scoring tries and enjoying doing what he does.
"He's enjoying the fact we're going to be involved in some big matches over the coming weeks, and that's something for us all to be excited about."
Ashton has scored 18 tries in 37 games for England since making his debut four years ago.
