Andy Murray pleased with win over Marinko Matosevic

British number one Andy Murray was happy with his performance in his Australian Open second-round win over Marinko Matosevic.

Andy Murray has admitted that a fast start against Marinko Matosevic was key to his victory in the Australian Open second round.

The sixth seed needed just 21 minutes to win the opening set before eventually prevailing for the loss of just six games, but the British number one believes that he had to play well to prevent his opponent getting back into the contest

After the match, the 27-year-old said: "I started the match extremely well and Marinko was a bit slow at the beginning, but he improved as the match went on and there were a lot of tight games in the second and third sets.

"A few of those games could have been a different story but I managed to win them. It was a good match."

Murray will now play Joao Sousa in the last 32 on Friday.
