Venus Williams had to come from a set down to beat Chanelle Scheepers in the second round of the Cincinnati Open.

The American was overpowered 6-2 in the first set before she claimed the second 6-3.

The turnaround was complete when Williams ran away 6-2 in the third thanks to three breaks of serve.

She will now meet Sara Errani for a quarter-final berth following the Italian seventh seed's win over Daniela Hantuchova.
