Romanian number one Simona Halep wins the seventh WTA Tour title of her career by beating Angelique Kerber 6-2 6-3 in the final of the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

The Romanian number one brushed aside Angelique Kerber in the final of the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

Seventh seed Halep recorded a 6-2 6-3 win over an under-par Kerber, who ended the match with a double fault.

Halep will climb to ninth in the world when the WTA rankings are updated later today.
