Venus Williams to meet sister Serena in Montreal semi-finals

Venus Williams will play sister Serena Williams in the Rogers Cup semi-finals after defeating Carla Suarez Navarro in the semi-finals in Montreal.

Venus Williams has defeated Carla Suarez Navarro in three sets to set up a last-four Montreal showdown with sister Serena Williams.

The 34-year-old looked like she was going to miss out on an highly-anticipated clash with her younger sister when she dropped the first set against the world number 16.

However, the American stormed back in the next two sets, breaking serve on six occasions to record a 4-6 6-2 6-3 victory.

In doing so, Venus will return to the world's top 20, while her match with Serena will be their 25th meeting of a storied rivalry on the court.
