Azarenka beats unseeded Paszek to semis

Victoria Azarenka advances to face Petra Kvitova in the semi-finals.

Victoria Azarenka has beaten Tamira Paszek to advance to the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Paszek held her serve in the first game of the match, after which the players made their way from Court One to the shelter of Centre Court. Once there, Azarenka proceeded to overtake and make her way to lead 5-1. The Austrian clawed back another two games but lost the set 6-3.

Azarenka secured the first three games of the second set before Paszek managed to hold serve to make 1-3. The Belarusian then resumed her ascent to a 6-3 6-1 victory.

Fourth seed Azarenka will go on to face eighth seed Petra Kvitova in the semi-finals.
