Arsene Wenger: 'Nicklas Bendtner in squad for West Bromwich Albion match'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reveals that Nicklas Bendtner has a good chance of being involved in tomorrow night's League Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that Nicklas Bendtner is in line to make his first appearance for the club in over two years against West Bromwich Albion tomorrow night.

Bendtner last featured for the Gunners in August 2011 but has returned to the Emirates Stadium this season, with Wenger blocking his deadline-day move to Crystal Palace after being left with limited options in attack.

Wenger included the Dane among his substitutes for last weekend's 3-1 win over Stoke City, with the forward now competing for a return to the starting lineup at The Hawthorns.

In an e-mail to Arsenal fans yesterday Wenger wrote: "We have a Capital One Cup game at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday and I will rotate the team, of course.

"Nicklas Bendtner has a chance to be involved but Jack Wilshere will not play. Rotating the squad is important, we will need everyone to play their part."

The 25-year-old is no stranger to the League Cup, having scored seven goals in the competition during his formative years at the Emirates.
