Carl Jenkinson stresses the importance of Arsenal claiming maximum points against Everton next time out.

England defender Carl Jenkinson has conceded that it is important that Arsenal claim three points from their trip to Everton on Wednesday night.

Saturday's 0-0 draw at Aston Villa left Arsenal sixth in the Premier League table and five points behind Chelsea in the last Champions League slot.

With the club keen to qualify for Europe's top competition once again, Jenkinson has described the encounter with the Toffees as a "massive game".

"We go into every game to win it. On Saturday it wasn't meant to be but we've got a huge game against Everton," he told the club's official website. "There's no hiding, we need to win that.

"It's a massive game for us. We're on a good little run now, but we need to pick up three points on Wednesday and I'm confident we'll do that."

Jenkinson joined the Gunners from Charlton Athletic in June 2011.
