Bordeaux winger Malcom has admitted that he wanted to leave the French club in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old was believed to be a target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but the Ligue 1 club refused to entertain any offers for their player.
Malcom has now revealed that, although still wanting to progress to a bigger club, he will give his all for Bordeaux until the end of the season before considering his options.
"I wanted to leave, I tell the truth," the Brazilian said to Telefoot. "It's my dream to progress in my career.
"I spoke with the president [Stephane Martin], he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.
"I told him he could count on me until the end [of the season]. I will do everything to bring Bordeaux to the top six in Ligue 1."
Malcom, yet to be capped at senior international level by Brazil, is said to be valued at £45m by Bordeaux.
