Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that he believes Aaron Ramsey will stay at the club despite growing uncertainty over his future in North London.
The Wales international has less than a year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and revealed recently that he is unsure whether his agent and the club would come to terms on an extension.
However, speaking after his side's penalty shootout defeat to Atletico Madrid in Singapore, Emery talked up the importance of keeping Ramsey at the club.
"Football changes every day. It's not easy. For that, I am thinking the match today first, then training tomorrow, then the match Saturday, with an important player here," Emery told reporters.
"Aaron is an important player for us, and the contract is one thing for the club and the player. For me, I want him to stay with us, to work with us, to give the team the big performance. I think he is going to stay here with us."
Serie A side Lazio are among the clubs rumoured to be interested in Ramsey.
