Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho has reportedly handed in a transfer request, amid links with a return to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has struggled to kick-start his Barca career since his expensive arrival from Liverpool in 2018, mainly due to injury problems that have brought inconsistencies to his performances.
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all believed to have registered an interest in Coutinho, but the Brazilian's high wages are a main barrier to any deal so far.
According to Spanish outlet sport, Coutinho and Barcelona have told the interested parties that they will try to help as best they can in terms of his salary and that a loan move might be the most likely option.
At the end of 2022 the World Cup is being hosted in Qatar, and Coutinho is said to want to find a club where he can get regular minutes under his belt to give him the best chance of being selected to represent Brazil later this year.
In total, Coutinho has managed 25 goals and 14 assists in 106 appearances for Barcelona, with a loan spell at Bayern Munich coming in the middle of his time at Camp Nou.
