Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he is 'available 24 hours a day' for transfer business.
The Gunners have only added Petr Cech to their squad this summer, but they have been heavily linked with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in recent months.
Wenger has said that he is prepared to do a late deal before the transfer window closes next week if it is right for the club.
When asked if he was confident of making more signings, he told Sky Sports News: "At the moment, I cannot say I am very confident because we are not close to signing anybody.
"I don't know because I am always confident that a last-minute situation or solution is available, because the transfer market is especially moving in the last four or five days.
"But at the moment, we are not close to signing anyone. I am 24 hours available per day, so I am involved in the decision of course."
Arsenal travel to Newcastle United on Saturday.
