Paul Lambert: 'I love Aston Villa'

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says he has no intention of leaving the club, and that he is proud to be in charge.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has said that he is proud to be the club's manager and that he has no intention of leaving Villa Park.

The West Midlands outfit suffered a sixth defeat in their last eight league games after being beaten 4-0 by Manchester City on Wednesday.

Lambert told reporters: "I get on with it. I fully intend to be here. I love this club, it's a great club, I'm proud as anything to be manager of it, it's the greatest thing I've done.

"You might find it strange me saying that, but it is because I know about everything that surrounds this football club.

"The history, the tradition, the supporters and the size of the fanbase. It's the best thing I've done."

Villa are currently 15th in the table and visit Tottenham Hotspur on the last day of the season.
