Andreas Weimann has insisted that Aston Villa can recover from their recent run of bad form.
Paul Lambert's side were knocked out of the FA Cup on Friday evening following a 2-1 defeat to Millwall and are currently only one place above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
However, Weimann believes Villa can improve and has urged his teammates to begin the recovery against Newcastle United on Tuesday.
"If you don't believe (you can turn it around) there is no point playing," said the Austrian striker. "A month or so ago we beat Liverpool and Norwich and then it turned. We have got to stick together as a team now things are not going well.
"We have got to learn to hold on to leads. It is a massive game for us on Tuesday night and hopefully we can start winning from there."
Reports on Saturday morning suggested that Weimann is to be offered a new contract by the club.
