Xavi: 'Losing not an option'

Barcelona midfielder Xavi insists that his team will have to be at their best to beat Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi has insisted that his team have not even thought about the possibility of losing Saturday's Champions League final against Juventus.

The Spanish team will enter the showpiece event as the favourites to triumph, but Xavi has paid tribute to the strength of Juve, who are also chasing a treble this season.

"It's an important final, we might be [called] the favourites, but it will not be easy. Juventus are very talented, they are good in defence and it will be really difficult. We are working hard, this week we will prepare, study the opponent and approach it as a final, which it is," Xavi told reporters at a press conference.

"Who doesn't want to win? We have to win, because we are Barca. We have been trained like that; we are a winning team. Drawing or losing is seen as failure."

Xavi will leave Barcelona this summer to join Qatari side Al-Sadd on a two-year contract.
