Barcelona have reportedly been in touch with Borussia Dortmund to discuss a January deal for Thomas Meunier.
The 30-year-old has again been an important player for BVB during the 2021-22 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and five assists in the process.
Meunier still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with Dortmund, but according to Marca, he could be heading for Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the season.
The report claims that Xavi is a huge admirer of the Belgium international and is hopeful that a short-term deal can be agreed for the rest of the 2021-22 campaign.
Barcelona are thought to be attracted by his experience and physical presence, with the club keen to boost their backline before the winter transfer window closes for business.
Meunier, who has played as both a right-back and right-sided midfielder this season, has scored three times and registered seven assists in 57 outings for Dortmund since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in July 2020.
