David Beckham is reportedly pushing forward with his plans to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi for his new MLS team Inter Miami.
The Argentine has two years left on his current deal at Camp Nou but it was revealed last week that he is free to leave at the end of this season should he want to, prompting interest from the former England captain and many others.
Beckham is believed to be determined to sign a marquee name for Miami, who join the USA's biggest domestic football league in March 2020, with Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale also linked with a move to Florida.
The Sun reports that the former Manchester United star sent Paul McDonagh to London to speak with Messi's father Jorge, who also acts as his adviser.
The 32-year-old is yet to feature for Ernesto Valverde's team this season as he recovers from injury.
