Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has reportedly contacted Barcelona about the possibility of taking starlet Isaac Cuenca on a season-long loan deal.
Cuenca made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2011 at the age of 19, but has since had his progress hampered by successive knee problems.
The winger spent the second half of last season on loan with Ajax, but once again injury struck to restrict Cuenca to just five appearances for the Dutch giants.
Mackay believes that Cuenca can offer the Bluebirds pace and dynamism in the final third and is waiting for a response from Barca over a long-term loan move, according to The Mirror.
Barca boss Gerardo Martino is open to letting Cuenca find first-team football on loan this season, but also has interest in the 22-year-old from within La Liga.
