New Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has reportedly urged his club to complete a deal for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic in this summer's transfer window.
Rakitic has entered the last two years of his contract with the Spanish champions, who have brought midfielders Arturo Vidal, Arthur and Frenkie de Jong to Camp Nou over the last 12 months.
Earlier this week, the Croatia international played down suggestions that he could leave the Spanish champions ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Indeed, the 31-year-old claimed that he wanted to remain with Barca, while the club had signalled that the midfielder would not be sold ahead of the new campaign.
According to Sport, though, Inter are determined to secure a deal for the 2018 World Cup finalist, with Conte requesting his signing this summer.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Rakitic since the end of last season.
