Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has reportedly informed Riqui Puig that the young midfielder is not in his plans this season and should find a new club before the transfer window closes.
The 21-year-old, who came through the club's academy, made 12 first-team appearances for the Catalan giants last season, including 11 outings in Spain's top flight.
The Spain Under-21 international was expected to be part of Koeman's rebuild at Camp Nou, with the Dutchman tasked with leading the club into a new era.
However, according to RAC1, Puig has failed to impress his new manager in training and has been told to find a new team before the October 5 deadline.
The midfielder still has three years left to run on his contract at Camp Nou, though, and it remains to be seen whether the club are prepared to allow him to leave.
Barca will face Elche in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Saturday night before opening their 2020-21 La Liga season at home to Villarreal next weekend.
