Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said that he expects manager Jupp Heynckes to stay at the club beyond his current deal.
The Bavarians' manager is under contract at the Allianz Arena until next summer but his future had been put in doubt after Bayern lost out on the Bundesliga to Borussia Dortmund.
However, following Munich's passage into the Champions League final, Rummenigge has revealed that he is keen to open negotiations with Heynckes over a contract extension.
"Jupp is a different kettle of fish, he doesn't think like that," Rummenigge told Bild.
"Jupp is a special character in that respect. If he wants to, he can remain longer than his contract which expires in 2013."
Munich will face Chelsea in the Champions League final on May 19.
