Ashley Westwood suffered a "serious" ankle injury on Saturday following a collision with Nikola Vlasic at the Olympic Stadium.
The midfielder could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines after he was stretchered off in the first half of Burnley's Premier League encounter against West Ham United.
Westwood sustained the injury after challenging for the ball with Vlasic, who was visibly upset following the incident in the 1-1 draw.
As a result, Westwood was treated for up to 10 minutes by medical staff before leaving the pitch to a standing ovation.
The Clarets have since stated that the 32-year-old has sustained a serious ankle injury, but relayed that the midfielder is doing well.
